i was thinking about that bus card. a bus card with 4 clips that gave me the ride of my life then took it all away leaving me with nothing and everything. a tourist gave me the rest of that card when i first started working at the hostel. it had 4 clips left, and i was saving them. then i used 3 on kevin and i when i took him to the airport, and then the last for villi. that card was in my purse so it was everywhere that i was in the last completely insane 1.5 months. like everything was in fast-forward, but i didn't know where i was fast-forwarding to. amazing. it took 2 away, but left me with an unforgettable experience.

i had a weird dream last night:
it was my first night living alone in my grandma's house which was decorated with antiques, old fashioned toys, dolls, and all the holiday decorations. all the holidays at once. christmas mixed with halloween and whatever. the lights were all low and i bumped into the christmas tree. there was a party next door and the people kept coming in my house to use the bathroom. so i got really pissed and screamed and kicked them all out. there was a few kids who i kicked out who were drunkenly mad. i thought they were still in the house trying to kill me. so i was collecting all possible weapons around the house and then i noticed i was bleeding everywhere cause i had cut myself with the knife by accident. (clumsy me) so then i was freaking out and took a shower trying to stop the bleeding. (wtf?) but it didn't work. so my towel was all bloody and i was running around the creepy house.
then i woke up in a sweat. but the worst part was that it was so realistic. usually when i dream, the image is as if i am at an aerial view. but this was a normal viewpoint.
strange.

on Bornholm for a few days

i rode a bike 41 km in 1 day! considering i have only ridden a bike a handful of times since i was about 12 years old... that's pretty damn impressive. i rode with my friend Agi to the other side of the island to stay in my families summerhouse for a day. we took the southern route and took all day just riding and being annoying tourists looking through all the towns. at the beginning of the trip the weather wasn't that nice. we got rained on a little bit. but then at around 1 it was perfect warm sunshine. some parts of the trip was with a view of the yellow rasp fields on one side and the sea on the other. i don't know what rasp is in english. and other parts of the trip was through the lush forests. this island's not so bad after all.

the last few km was pure struggle. our asses hurt like nothing i have ever experienced but we managed to get there. it's a really cool little house- the whole back side as a giant window with a view of the rocky coast. we just relaxed outside with some beers and talked about guys and complained about our soar bums. the next day we made a huge breakfast then sunbathed the rest of the day like turtles on the giant rocks. we were planning to ride our bikes back to the other side of the island, but we couldn't even look at the bikes. so when a guy came to the house to cut the grass, he gave us a ride back. that was nice. it would have been cooler if i could say i rode a bike 82 km in 2 days, but i'm not that cool.

i came back to the island to take my final exam tomorrow. wish me luck! there's a group of irish kids being exchange students at my school for 2 months. they're in a different program that lasts longer than mine. so i went out with them friday and they are so much fun! probably the most friendly people i have ever met before. completely easy going. it sucks that finally after i am finished with school and moving away, some new kids come to freshen it up a bit. why couldn't they have come when i was so bored with this island a few months ago?

i feel like such a tourist now that i don't live here anymore... and it makes this island a much better place. i suppose the weather has something to do with that. Bornholm isn't sleeping anymore. there's cafes outside now and sooo many tourists. even the Bornholmish locals are acting like normal people. it's great to see this place alive. it makes me want to stay here for another month or so.

More to the point, green M&M's are said to be aphrodisiac - that's good enough for us.

BLUE Pantone Inc. says is the world's favourite colour. Seamen and airmen everywhere must be doing something right.

PINK when US Marines were retained for an hour in a pink detention room at a correctional center in Seattle, disturbances decreased to nil. We love the fact that eight out of ten Marines prefer pink.

the new Spoon album came out yesterday. i should get that. oh, no money. ok. maybe not. i got a letter from the Visa people (i've been waiting on my visa since last october)... and they are just now telling me that i have to have a bank statement showing that i have 50,000 krone in my account. umm...yeah sure. fuckers. of course i don't have that much money anymore if i've been living here for the past 8 months. anyways, now i need to come up with 50,000 krone. i feel like a desperate character in one of those suspense movies who's on the verge of doing something criminal. where's my red wig? Run, Katie Run!

now that i'm in copenhagen, i don't really know what to do with myself. i was/am excited and happy to be here, but i don't know where to begin. it's like i'm starting my life once again. but this time i'm not too sure how to start. it would of course be much easier to just go home and not have try hard. i consider it sometimes, then i always feel so guilty for having thought about that. i wouldn't let myself give up so easily.

i just go with the flow. how do i make the flow flow?

i just laughed at agne and my gum fell out of my mouth. gross.
last night i went to a roof party. we had a barbeque on the roof of my friends appartment building. it was pretty cool. as danes say, det var meget hyggelig.
i got my ticket to copenhagen yesterday, and it got me thinking about what it will be like to revamp my life for the millionth time. i like changes and adapt really well, but still it sucks a little to pack my life into one giant red suitcase. i miss all my things that i left at my moms house. and it sucks to keep having to buy things that i already own in the usa. of couse i have to, but just the fact that i already bought one and now i have to buy it again. i'm not complaining that i'm tired of moving cause i'm not at all. i love it.

    <lj:music>the dandy warhols</lj:music>

I woke up today after not having enough sleep, and felt like i was hit by a bus- body hurting everywhere. i forced myself to get up. made coffee to wake myself up, but i made it wrong and got watery coffee instead. i walked out of my house, with dandy warhols singing into my head, and the weather woke me up completely. the air was so warm and fresh. the past week, bornholm smelled like a giant turd cause the farmers had put shit on the fields, but today it was gone.
on my way to school, i saw an old woman struggling to slowly cross the street. when she reached the other side, she stopped and just stood there like she was tired of walking and needed a break. i thought that i will one day be like that and it made me smile to her as i laughed to myself. she saw me and smiled back and she started laughing outloud. probably laughing at herself for having to take a break after the dreadfully long walk across the street. she was so cute.

"Yes, it's that magical time of the year again when the Darwin Awards are bestowed, honoring the least Evolved among us. Here then, are the glorious winners."

Darwin Award Winners:

1. When his 38-caliber revolver failed to fire at his intended victim during a holdup in Long Beach, California, would be robber James Elliot did something that can only inspire wonder. He peered down the barrel and tried the trigger again. This time it worked..... And now, the honorable mentions:

2. The chef at a hotel in Switzerland lost a finger in a meat cutting
machine and, after a little hopping around, submitted a claim to his
insurance company. The company expecting negligence, sent out one of its men to have a look for himself. He tried the machine and lost a finger. The chef's claim was approved.

3. A man who shoveled snow for an hour to clear a space for his car during a blizzard in Chicago returned with his vehicle to find a woman had taken the space, so he shot her.

4. After stopping for drinks at an illegal bar, a Zimbabwean bus driver found that the 20 mental patients he was supposed to be transporting from Harare to Bulawayo had escaped. Not wanting to admit his incompetence, the driver went to a nearby bus stop and offered everyone waiting there a free ride. He then delivered the passengers to the mental hospital, telling the staff that the patients were very excitable and prone to bizarre fantasies. The deception wasn't discovered for 3 days.

5. An American teenager was in the hospital recovering from serious head wounds received from an oncoming train. When asked how he received the injuries, the lad told police that he was simply trying to see how close he could get his head to a moving train before he was hit.

6. A man walked into a Louisiana Circle-K, put a $20 ! bill on the counter,
and asked for change. When the clerk opened the cash drawer, the man pulled a gun and asked for all the cash in the register, which the clerk promptly provided. The man took the cash from the clerk and fled, leaving the $20 bill on the counter. The total amount of cash he got from the drawer...$15.
(If someone points a gun at you and gives you money, is a crime committed?)

7. Seems an Arkansas guy wanted some beer pretty badly. He decided that he'd just throw a cinderblock through a liquor store window, grab some booze, and run. So he lifted the cinderblock and heaved it over his head at the window. The cinderblock bounced back and hit the would-be thief on the head, knocking him unconscious. The liquor store window was made of Plexiglas. The whole event was caught on videotape.

8. As a female shopper exited a New York convenience store, a man grabbed her purse and ran. The clerk called 911 immediately, and the woman was able to give them a detailed description of the snatcher. Within minutes, the police apprehended the snatcher. They put him in the car and drove back to the store. The thief was then taken out of the car and told to stand there for a positive ID. To which he replied, "Yes, officer, that's her. That's the lady I stole the purse from."

9. The Ann Arbor News crime column reported that a man walked into a Burger King in Ypsilanti, Michigan, at 5 a.m., flashed a gun, and demanded cash. The clerk turned him down because he said he couldn't open the cash register without a food order. When the man ordered onion rings, the clerk said they weren't available for breakfast. The man, frustrated, walked away.

A 5-STAR STUPIDITY AWARD WINNER!
10. When a man attempted to siphon gasoline from a motor home parked on a Seattle street, he got much more than he bargained for. Police arrived at the scene to find a very sick man curled up next to a motor home near spilled sewage. A police spokesman said that the man admitted to trying to steal gasoline and plugged his siphon hose into the motor home's sewage tank by mistake. The owner of the vehicle declined to press charges, saying that it was the best laugh he'd ever had.

<lj:music>new bjork cd- interesting to say the least</lj:music>

yet again, sitting here in my most unfavorite situation: another lengthy project and allergies and peeing every 10 minutes because i drank too much coffee and tea today. procrastination kicks in as always. avoiding work by wasting many hours doing junk online that i usually save for the last resort when i'm desperately bored- like changing this page. i told myself yesterday that today i would get to school and work only on my project and be effective. yeah right.

i'm totally stressed out, but not about the project... about the end of the school year, my internship, and moving, and money, and a million other things. and i am realizing with each passing day how i need to get off this island asap before it ruins me permanently.

on a better note, i talked to my mom the other day for about 2 hours. it was so happy and sad at the same time. and i didn't cry. i'll probably go back for christmas, after more than a year. i think it won't feel like home anymore.
